i wish i knew what was on my windshield. tried laquer thinner, but didn`t seem to work all that well.(recomended by local glass place). smears when raining and have wipers on. i think it might be like rain-x or something similar...been there since i bought the truck...

simple is best BON AMI cleanser only (no comet or other cleaner they are not as refined.)and lots of water
make a paste out of it and scrub your window with a soft cotton cloth
rinse VERY well
do your wipers to with it
do this bout three times really scrub and polish it with the bonami
it will be CLEAN again

Bonami is sold in Kmart, walmart and other supermarkets. It doesn't scratch glass or other surfaces. I use it to get stubborn bugs off the windshield.

After I clean the bon ami off I use Invisible glass for the final touch. My windshield is so darn clear it's almost if it's not there!

If you can't find those names, look for a can of Bar-Keepers-Friend. It is about the same as BON AMI but may cost a little more.
