WOW, Almost one Mile High

I was driving up to Tennesse from North Caralina and had to Pass through the Smoky Mountains National Park. The truck work well while doing the great climbe on US 441. Max water temerature was 230DegF and the Fan only came on twice at 218DegF. Tha average Millage was 10MPG with my 5th wheel in tow. Coming down the truck kept the speed at posted speed while hardly having to press the brakes. The climb was about 15 miles and the descent was similar. While there were a few level spots along the way. Most clib up the top was at 7% grades

At least 3 to 4 times

I did 2 mountain tops to make it through on US441. One in NC and one at the Border of both states as the pic shows. The first is on divided highway straight up at 7% for a long time to 4000 ft,

You basically went thru what they call the Gorge, right?

Its the right hand gorge area where the Appalatian trail passes through. next to clingman's dome

NICE!! I love it up there, the airs cleaner. You going to be in the area there for anytime, go over to Cades Cove. That place is packed with deers, bears,and other things. The Camp grounds are nice to, but there primitive some what. In joy your trip.
