No it actually keeps us warmer in the winter when the wind is from the West, which is most of the time. We will see zero and sometimes below but most of the time we are 15°-25° warmer than 50 miles inland.
Now it does produce a lot of snow and I do mean a lot. Its the reason I have 4x4. Couldn't be without it.

Snow, what's that?? :dunno It's not the droplets of water that are suspended in the air at 80 and 90 degrees making it almost impossiable to breathe.. :roflmao That's what we get here. (lately the humidity has been pretty low though like in the 50-60% range :D ) The one thing I greatly dislike about the SouthEast.

When I was Aimin High some years back, I remember playing tennis at Beale AFB with temps right around 110  , didn't even sweat :thumbs

That's the reason I'm trying to get out of going to my wife's cousin's wedding. Annie (her cousin) is pretty cool, even though I've only met her twice, but her wedding is is Vidalia, GA in AUGUST.   Does she realize it's going to be nine trillion degrees with matching humidity and gnats EVERYWHERE? Good Lord, I'll send her a check for the cost of a plane ticket if that means I don't have to go. :thumbs

Actually, you DID sweat, its just that the humidity is so LOW, that it evaps off your skin fast.

A "dry heat" is dangerous because, since you dont realize how much your sweating, you may not drink enough fluids. You also can excert yourself easier because it doenst feel like your swimming in your own juices like we do down here in new orleans. (that explains the smell here tho!)
