I have an inverter that has a cigarette lighter plug for the power from the truck. I have never used it and had it for 3 years.

A guy I work with did not pass his road test for the CDL B. He is smarter than most the others that passed. They said the tester was like a drill sargent and didn't like people with long hair. On his retest he tucked all his hair under his hat and passed.

I have an inverter (300w, i think)...its between my seat
and the "center" seat...its fused at the battery (and has
another fuse on the unit).

ive wired mine to one of my carling switches (under the steering
wheel) in the removable access panel (figure i can buy another
if the next owners doesnt like the switches).

ive also wired an EXTRA cig/power point (thats bolted down UNDER
my seat)...i use the inverter and the powerpoint all the time...to
charge my laptop(s) and my cell phone...i cant stand CLUTTER or
things sticking outta the dash (all the time).

ive NEVER had an issue w/ my inverters...everythings tied down
VERY well & connected via secure lugs to their power sources (battery
or fuse block etc)

ive run TWO laptops off this inverter...one for movies for the kids &
one for me w/ gps/maps
