CPS PRICE

Are you kidding me? 99 cent sensors on ebay? I just paid 200 bones for one at NAPA! If I had another vehicle I assure you I would have waited for FED EX! What the heck happened? Are these sensors good quality? Maybe I should buy a dozen for spares. Anyway, hope diesel prices drop as fast.:roflmao

We have them in stock for those that are needing one:
Improved Blue CPS for 7.3L Ford Powerstroke Diesel

$25 shipped

dfuser diesel performance

What is blue about this sensor? It is actually gray. People usually refer to the Navistar sensor that is blue for the DT466 as the blue CPS. The F7TZ12K073B is not blue and I've yet to have anyone say it is improved.

Thanks, Bob

My early evaluation of the Grey CPS

Here I'll chime in on the newest "Grey" CPS that hit the shelves recently. Just out of a hunch and in the constant pursuit of testing I installed one of the Grey's on our 7.3L last week.

The 7.3L started as normal,my ear tells me it's a little quieter idling, idles little smoother, accelerates smoother maybe even stronger in the low to mid range RPM curve but the biggest Pro from the Grey is 25-50 degrees lower EGTs which could result in reduced tailpipe smoke as a sign of a more complete fuel burn within the cylinders .

Will I recommend it to the next 7.3L owner? Yes but every 7.3L will respond differently so your results may differ.

I'll continue to evaluate the Grey for any MPG +/- differences and will post my findings.:sweet

Error on my part. The grey one is the new one from FORD and the Blue is what normally comes on the 466 Engines. Sorry about the confusion.

Thanks Bill:sweet

Black @ stock 7.3L CPS
Grey @ revised 7.3L CPS
Blue @ stock T444E Medium truck CPS

Here's a few photos I shot of the new Grey CPS prior to installation 2 weeks back, notice the physical differences between the two.
I gotta say I really like how the new CPS is working out in our 02 Excursion:sweet

CPS memory lane

Was combing thru some old photo files I pulled from storage and it brought to light my first experience with the CPS was way back in 1997 before the problem was really evident in the 99+ PowerStrokes.

Here's a couple photos of my 95 International 4700 being towed by a colleague from College Oak due to the CPS finally gave up the ghost, nothing like being in tow on the highway and have it die on you,no fun at all!!

Bama note the Pete:thumbs

hi sir,

I'm in need of help! 99.5 ps is running like crap. It all started yesterday during a hard acelleration where i noticed it missing and lacking power. I have a little scanner and got a 1316 code. I'm almost sure it's not a single injector missing due to no abnormal smoke and besides the whole engine seems tainted like timming from possibly the cmp senser missfiring. when i first noticed the issue i drove to the pump and filled the truck up after fueling i noticed it ran fine. then i went ahead and replaced the fuel filter because it was do anyway. Following that i went on a test run and the truck ran great like it always did. this morning it fired up fine and idled fine but after i got in the throttle it bogged out again and is currently running poor and has a miss or unstable injection. i'm lost...
