good info...i by all accounts im probably livin' on borrowed time
(still got the stockers)...
Go ahead and borrow another 6 or 8 years ;tu Motorcraft batteries are the best out there.

Almost 3 1/2 years on the factory batteries.

I would say 3.5 is just getting broke-in. The stockers out of my 96' are still going strong though I put them in my 1975 F250. I swapped them out a couple of years ago for peace of mind but still not sure why. They test out great and fire up the old 75' everytime I hit the key. The battery in our 95' Explorer is also the stock unit..

I will not buy a battery that does not say Motorcraft on it. Gets a little chilly here from time to time and a dead battery is not real convenient at -40..

I put two Motorcrafts in my 95 about 4 months before I got rid of it, total price for TWO batts was about $250.00

Welcome to Canada, everything's more expensive here. 2 fuel filters is over $110 here.\

My stock batteries left me stranded at 3 years old, I guess it depends on what you use the truck for.

Yep. My stockers went at 38 months. You can tell me the virtues of MC batteries till the cows come home, but my experience in my last 3 trucks has been the same. 3 years, time for batteries.

I have two Optima 1000/850CA Red Top batteries in the truck. My buddy has had his for a year now. Neither one of us has had any issues, but it hasn't been long. I will post up if anything comes to a head. FWIW, I bought these at Sam's for $139/ea. They have a 3 year replacement warranty.
