Have to get back with you on that to be sure....but I think its interemittent. I tried to avoid making it happen.

Intermittent problems can be tough sometimes. I wouln't ever just replace parts unless I now what was going on. If it is intermittent keep a log, with when it happend, hot or cold, and it would make it easier if you could make it happen.

I`v been reading this one like several other threads. The truck acts like a gas engine with a bad set of plug wires or water in the distributor cap. there several trucks doing the same thing. In most posts we call it a MISS. The electronic tests will not catch this one .??? I have this problem & getting worse , now the truck has started smoking - black.:dunno

I just Googled sea foam, they must of said that to clean injectors. I wouldn't if it's not for Diesel engines.

Sea Foam is the original wonder product...
you can put it in your fuel, to clean the fuel lines and injectors, or you can put it in your oil before you change it to clean out the slime

Is your truck doing this in the stock setting ? There are lot's of problems that happen to fast that won't set a code. It needs to be recorded with a good scanner. Then you'll see what happened ( Any one know of a good diag tech were you live ) When the 6.0 came out it was easy. We installed flight recorders. Yes just like they have in air planes.

My truck does this MISS everytime I get in it. It is randome & goes away with boost. The truck runs pretty good at wot.I have had this for about 2 years now. The only thing I have not personally checked is the passenger wiring & will probably do that next week. I run my own RV repair shop & it has been wide open this year.

I've seen that a lot. That is the easiest way to explane it. ( It feels like a bad spark plug ) Your going to find it's the High pressure oil pump. Maybe have a tech at Ford diag it. It would be easy for them. All they have to do is take a P.I.D recording (record sensors) ICP, and IPR. Your going to see spikes in the recording. I have never seen a ICP sensor, or IPR ever cause that problem only the High Pressure oil pump. Or any buddies with the same truck ? 99-03 7.3. Try there pump it won't cost you anything except a day. I bought one out of a Yard for 100 dollars here in Phx.

I`ll look into changing the pump. When the pump is changed & you get air in the system it will miss & run like crap for about 100 miles- right ? I hope this is the problem. ;tu
