Removing EGR System & DEF

I was just talking to a person that does the removal of the above along with the tuner stuff. I was explaining to him that I just bought this 2013 F250 Super Duty XLT with the 6.7 Turbo Diesel engine, and was asking his opinion on extended warranties. He asked how many miles was on my truck, and I said 99,100 miles.
He started explaining to me about most warranty companies will only probably go 3 years or 36,000 miles at this point in mileage.
So he explained that it may be more advantageous to me to remove the DEF system, and the EGR setup. He went on to explain that I could pick up maybe another up to 80hp, several miles per gallon, cooler running engine, smoother running engine and trans, and extended life of the engine. The cost of this would be about $2500.
I am pulling a 13-14,000lb 5th wheel, but not very often. I will be pulling it from Michigan to Arizona in January for several months, and occasional camping here and there.
This is roughly the price of a Ford extended warranty for just the drivetrain, engine, and axles.
I would very much appreciate any feedback I can get on, whether it would be a good idea to go either way, or just leave alone.
I am normally getting Highway mileage of 18-19, City 15, and pulling the 5th wheel about 9-10

I removed my emissions and I’m using sct live wire ts for my tunes. When on tow time I can say it feels a lot smoother pulling my toy hauler which is around 9k. On high tune it is roughly a 100hp and trans tune. Overall I’m seeing about 1-2mpg better but truck feels so much better overall. Also have to think of the savings on def fluid. Only regret I have is I didn’t do it sooner.

Great, I sure thought that I would get alot more responses than just 1. Not sure whether to do it or not. 1-2 miles per gallon doesn't seem like much for the $2500 investment, and do you have any problem with a Ford dealership working on it, when you take it in for service, for any reason?

Also, is there another diesel forum that has more activity than this one? Don't seem to be that much going on here?

My truck is a 2016 so you may get different results on your 2013. I do most of my work myself and I’m at the mileage that I don’t go back to dealer for much of anything but you shouldn’t have to worry bout that. As for other sites not sure. There is lots of you tube videos and reviews on line and I feel better knowing that I’m not putting that junk back into my engine.

If you can do it, do it. It will only add life to your engine without the heat, regen mode and putting warm exhaust back into the motor. It costs the same to replace the DPF.

Is this a violation of federal law?
Yes. Modifying or removing any emission equipment goes against federal law. But it's up to the county about enforcing those laws. There are places in California that don't enforce the emission laws.

And this section on the 6.7 might be more helfpul than here...this site has about dried up and ready to blow away.

I can't help on the delete vs warranty, since I've just gotten my new '17 end of January. But my opinion is either do nothing, or do the delete. The warranty is money down the drain. In my opinion...

Personally I'd put some miles on it. Make sure it's not going to be a problem child. Then look into the delete and tune.
