I went to get in the truck and when I started the truck I noticed I didn't have any instruments. No tach, speedometer, oil and temp, or warning lights. The radio did not work, power mirrors didn't work nor did the dome lights. The fuses had a blown 10 amp in position 35. Everything worked...
Well I picked up the truck on March 11. in Ohio.:) The work was done as stated in the quote and the truck was detailed and looked nice. The only issue I had at the time was the replacement of the charge air cooler since I had it replaced in September and only had 10,000 miles on it.:( I told...
Dealer says truck is ready so I will head out tomorrow and pick it up Wednesday. Hopefully all will be good. Dealer says there is nothing special to do to for a break-in period. Just get in and go as usual. Haul a trailer etc no problem.
What do you experts say?? I want it to be right...
Thanks for the comments. If I had the truck at home I would certainly look at other ways to get back on the road! However whey 700 miles from home it limits your opportunities. At least in my situation. Thanks again, Hope to be on the road Wednesday!!
Ponyexpress94,
I shopped around and figured with shipping, labor, the cost of putting a in used engine with many miles of unknown maintenance and no guarantee was a too much of a gamble. Plus $2000 to tow it home for repairs. The complete new engine has a complete new fuel system, turbo etc...
Lost my engine last monday (680 miles from home). An injector came apart and parts entered the cylinder. Happened while doing 65 on interstate. The flow of raw fuel into cylinder caused cylinder/piston damage and possible bent rod along with other internal engine damage. Mileage was...
What could one expect to pay to have a remanufactured complete 6.0 engine replacement? (Engine and Labor) The Ford part # for the engine is 3C3Z-6007-AARM.
Thanks
Poneyexpress,
You hit the nail on the head. Found a crack in the air cooler. Replaced it and truck runs great. There has been a lot of controversy about the 6.0L but I have a little over 190000 miles and am very pleased with my truck. Looking forward to another 190000.:)
My 03 F350 has hardly any throttle response when pressing the accelerator. If I start out with a normal speed all is fine but if I need to get a fast start and I press the accelerator to the floor the engine seems to slow. Also when driving at say 45 and I press the accelerator to the floor...
I have always been using an additive in my fuel. I have used Ford additive and some others that I have obtained while traveling. What do you experts recommend as the best additive??
Thanks.
