    I tried Royal Purple syn oil. It was said to improve rear limited slip but no difference. Nothing wrong with Royal Purple rear end grease just the newer trucks have decent lockers but old limited slips never worked.

    Question 2000 7.3 factory rods?

    Yours should be forged rods. I had a early 2001 and it had forged rods. I think it changed late in 01 whenever they ran out of them and switch to the powdered rods. There is serial no. on valve cover that can verify that if you google it.
