I noticed the other day while pulling a 30ft. gooseneck trailer with about a 7,000lb tractor on up a pretty good grade my truck began to skip. Im calling it a skip but dont really know what it was doing?? Just sporatically would miss a few times then run fine. No check engine light is on but i...
Thanks for the help guys. Just wanted to give yall an update. Carried the truck to the Ford dealer and turns out my problem was the ICP sensor. They replaced it and the trucks been doing fine since.
I put a new air filter in the truck today. Come to find out it has an aftermarket box witch takes a big panel type filter(not sure of the name). Cranked it up and to my suprise it acted fine. It may have acted like it "wanted" to do its little reving fit that it has but never did. Could this...
CRanked it up just a few mins. ago and it run fine for about 30 seconds again then reved up and down 9 or 10 times and puffed blake smoke. it did not go to 1000 rpms like it normally would just started idling again????
New EGR installed. Def. helped but its still not quite right. It cranks right up, does a quick rev with a puff of blake smoke and goes to 1000 rpms and sits there for at least 5 mins. even when its 95 degrees outside. When it does decide to idle down some it only goes down to 800 or so rpms. It...
So with the 2 EGR codes that its throwing will a new EGR fix my problem?? I crunk it up today and it cranked right up ran fine for about 30 seconds then reved up and down a few times and cut off. Cranked right back up though.
Had my truck scanned today here are the codes that showed up,
PO404
PO405
P1464
And i had a previous code of P2285 but is not showing up now?? Possibly fixed before I bought it??
Any enlightenment would be appreciated on the direction I need to head in to straighten this thing out.
Big joe, yesterday and today when i drove the truck I switched it on and let the glow plugs do their thing. Cranked it on up and let it idle a few seconds and went on a put her in gear and eased out the driveway and up the road. I didnt give it time to sit there and do its reving or whatever it...
Its not been cold here at all. Been in the high 80's and 90's these past few days. I understand what a high idle cycler does but this is more like someone is sitting in the seat tapping the gas pedal but its just doing it on its on. It doesnt just go to up a few hundred rpm's and stay there...
I have an 03 F250 with the 6.0L. I havent been long bought the truck and am new to the 6.0L's. My question is when I start the truck up with a cold engine, like in the morning's it will start right up no problem and run perfect then start reving up and down on its on for several seconds or until...
