First, if you have not bought the Ford yet, DON"T! You will be disappointed and will be wasting your money. These are the biggest pieces of crap to ever wear the Ford badge. Mine only has 54000 miles and has been in the shop no less than 30 times. So if you like being without your truck because...
Ford dumped the 6.4 because it is the biggest piece of crap that has ever been under the hood of a Ford! I have an 08 F350 King Ranch with 54000 miles on it and it has been to the shop no less than 30 times! What a disappointment! Ford has driven me to Chevy... I will never buy a Ford product...
You can do this yourself in less than 30 minutes
The prices you listed are what I see here in NC for the filters and for labor. What I found is that if you ask a couple different parts departments, you will eventually find one that will sell you the filters for less. Here is what I buy mine at...
I have 32k on my 08 now and for the past two oil changes I have used Shell Rotella T 5W-40 full synthetic. The truck likes it... Anyone else using synthetic?

Intake install
Total time for the install was less than 30 minutes. I ordered my intake from Dieselmanor.com, got it two days later. It really is a simple install.
What's worked for me
I put a S&B cold air intake on mine about 1500 miles ago, my mileage has gone up 1.8MPG. I have 24k miles on mine. I'm getting ready to change my oil as well and I'm going over to full synthetic, I expect mileage to improve slighty from that. My overall average MPG is 16.5...
I found mine on the King Ranch website, it sells for around $9 a bottle. It is the only conditioner that is recommended for our King Ranch leather. Hope this helps.
