Ya it was an Auto Zone scanner. I will see if the local truck place has one but I cant drive it the way it is. I will pull the valve covers and start from there. I will keep you informed what I find. Prob. Send pictures too.:sweet
I tried pulling the codes with an OBD II.
There is No smoke coming out the exhaust
Yes it smells like burnt wiring
I will pull the rocker covers in the A.M. and see what the wires look like under there.
Thank you!!
I have a 1997 7.3 and last night I started it up. Everything was running good and all of a sudden it started running like a gas engine that had a plug or 2 fouled out. The check engine light is on but it wont pull any codes.
For some time now it has been acting up like a spark plug would be...
When ever I apply the brakes they work fine. BUT if I let the pedal up and jam it down again RIGHT AWAY the pedal is rock hard and my truck does not hardly stop.
I have replaced the master cylinder & power booster. I have bled the lines really good. I checked for air leaks and cant locate any...
It has automatic hubs. I move the lever inside the cab (on the floor) and dont ever have to get out for it to go in and out of 4WD. I do have to stop to have it engage.
I put it back into 4WD and the noise stopped. HOWEVER, it clunks like it wants to kick in but wont.
HERE IS A BIGGER...
:dizzy
I went to switch it into 4WD and it made a clunk. Now it wont go into 4WD and it makes a (Grinding) noise like I am shift gears on a 4 speed when I am going down the road.
If I have it in 4 WD the grinding stops but I still dont have 4WD. It makes a clunk and wants to shift into 4WD...
Yes I did. It wasnt that bad. The only problem is I still see a small leak. The hose the guy gave me said it would work but I have my doubts. I think it needs to be a special type of hose not just fuel injection hose. That hose isnt easy to put on either.
Thanks
