Thanks for the right up. I had to get into the steering column today to fix the ignition alarm for when the door is open anyway. Works perfect now.

great hi-tech graphic you got there.
question: could you grind it down with a dremel instead of melting with a screwdriver tip?

I suppose one could, but you don't want to slip and crack the collar. Also, don't take too much off, just enough where the lobe will no longer contact the cancelling button on the turn signal switch. A red hot melting tool will do the job with minimal risk of cracking the collar that goes around the steering shaft. Any old fugly flat blade screwstick and a suitable heating device will to the job.

Those are those blinky things that I seldom see used when I travel below da bridge to troll-vania. :roflmao

That's what I thought for years. But I think saying "taking the column apart" over states the difficulty of the project. To be more accurate, all you have to do is remove a couple of covers from the top & bottom of the column (about 4 screws), remove the ignition key cylinder and two screws for the trun signal switch assembly.

Experience has shown me it is so easy to do that it can be done in much less than an hour. In hindsight, the benefit was well worth the effort of doing, even if having no other reason to "take the column apart".

On edit: I might "reenact" the process some day and take some pics for a wiki acticle. Think I could call it the Tail gunner mod? :lmao:innocent

I think that's a good idea..
two votes for the "TailGunner Blinky Mod"

Gotcha, sounds like I will be doing the Tailgunner Blinky Mod in the near future!
