JL, sorry to hear about your dad. That was a great story about him. Another member of "the greatest generation" who did his part to keep our country free.
It's a strange coincidence, but my dad was also with the engineers in WWII and helped build bridges that were later destroyed. He traveled throughout Germany, sometimes being close to the enemy lines, but was never involved in any battles. Who know, but they may have served together at one time.
