i go camping mainly in the mountians and i go from about 1000 in elevation of about 6500-7000 in elevation where i go 2hrs away so i has some decent climbs but i also use my truck everday for a work truck so do you guys think i should leave the 3:73 and not waste my money and go to a 4:56

i have stock 3:73 gears and thinking about regearing to a 4:56 for towing the toyhauler two shops i have talked to says dont waste your money on gears cause diesel have enough power to compensate for that do you agree with that or you think they are full of it thanks for the input

took it to the dealer today they inspected it they said the egt (or egr?? cant remember) is leaking , the egr cooler is bad, the oil cooler is bad, and the intake manifold has a ton of carbon build up and needs to be replaced
i am taking my truck to the dealer in the morning they think it might be the (egt cooler)?? or (egt valve)?? but they arent sure i will keep you guys posted on what happens

it might be worth doing some home work to see if you can find a shop even if you have to travel a little bit atleast you could upgrade the tranny so you dont have this problem again i just wait for stuff to brake then spend the money to upgrade pay to play thats what i am doing on my rearend...
i would check with a local tranny shop the one i go to can rebuild mine and upgrade the clutches and torque converter for $2000 might be something to look into
i love do double stack you can tell a big difference i alwas have the evo on race and the i run around town with the platinum on level 3 it has a ton of power once in a while i will go to 5 just for fun:thumbs if you like a lot of smoke as well that will do the trick
