    How hard to gutt EBPV?

If you decide to gut the ebpv then you might as well remove the actuator rod from the pedistal and tap and plug the hole. I used air pressure to remove the round cap after taking out the snap ring and then tapped and plugged the actuator rod hole. be careful if you do this and point in a safe...

    Reverse is Killing it.

sometimes the filter in the tranny drops down into the pan and it will cause the truck to stall/die in reverse. just something to consider.

Chip is out and flutter/surge is gone

I reinstalled the chip on thurs along with a ccv mod and map relief valve. I also raised the filter off the fender with a 2x4 (for now). Seemed to take most of the flutter out of it. I guess maybe I had too much restriction on the intake side with the filter just sitting on the fender.

Chip is out and flutter/surge is gone

I hear ya about the two's I love 'em but they smoke a little too much for me at times. I guess i'ts those big nozzles. Even with the chip out (so stock fuel etc.) it will smoke considerabley if I gas it in od before the boost comes up. Maybe the IC and eventually a new turbo will help. I...

Chip is out and flutter/surge is gone

I talked to Dale I this evening checking on some stuff I ordered. I posed the question to him as well just to get his opinion. His take was that the compresor surge/ flutter (if that's what it is) is probably happening because it's making considerably more boost at lower rpm with the...

Chip is out and flutter/surge is gone

I can't figure it out... I sent my chip to be reprogrammed. I went into town to get some food tonight and I decided to test out the ebp gauge I just installed for some testing with my new ats wastegated housing(when I get around to installing it). I put it to the floor and it got up to 33 psi...

    $10 AIC Mod

I still haven't been able to get mine to work. I guess I'll mess with it again this fall. Mine just sets a light when I turn it on and doesn't change engine rpm at all.

Anybody near Austin TX have auto E?

I might get lucky, a guy I know from the diesel stop that helped me out last year has an automotive shop in austin. Hopefully he will have the proper diagnostic software. I sent him a pm we'll see what happens. Alan

Anybody near Austin TX have auto E?

I'm told auto E will read the exhaust back pressure from the ebp sensor and boost from the map sensor (although I have it regulated to around 22psi). This would allow those interested to see the difference in back pressure vs boost ratio between the stock setup and the wastegated housing I'm...

Anybody near Austin TX have auto E?

I'm gettin ready to install the ats wastegated exhaust housing and several folks want me to do some pressure testing (including TravisT:D ) I don't really want to purchase a 100 psi boost gauge to hook to the exhaust side for the testing. It would be much easier to get readings from auto e or...

How hard is it to change out the rotors

About 10 miles east of austin. New rotors are installed and I didn't screw anything else up. after all the trouble trying to figure out the first one I had the second R and R in about an 45min to an hour. And one other thing if you go from auto to manual lockers in some trucks you need a...

How do I get rotors off with auto-hubs?

I have recently become an expert as it took me part of 2 weekends and multiple trips to the auto parts store and 4 wheel parts. If the hub assemby is the same as the d60 then here goes. First remove the 3 screws from the auto hub cover and remove, remove large lock ring and auto locker...

How hard is it to change out the rotors

warn premium lockers it is! The kit from ford to fix my auto lockers was 160, a set of the warn premium was 210 at 4 wheel parts. I bought a couple of brass drifts. hopefully I won't screw anything else up. this project is getting expensive. Alan

    SD HPOP

If it doesn't come with a new ipr (mine didn't) just switch them out and your good to go. since yours is also a 97 theres no drain back issues. Oh I think you also have to switch the fittings since the newer ones are quick disconnects and ours aren't. Alan

How hard is it to change out the rotors

I'm an idiot. one of the guys over at the dark side told me to remove the small clip that inserts into the outer bearing and keeps you from being able to loosen the nut. Now I have destroyed part of my auto lockers. should I go with manual lockers or can I buy parts to repair the autos? I'm...

How hard is it to change out the rotors

Help Please... I've now been to the auto parts store 3 times in 2 days I still can't find the right spindle nut socket. I have the socket to remove the large nut holding the hub on but I cant find out how to get the nut off that is before the outer bearing. I have now destroyed the inner and...

How hard is it to change out the rotors

aaarrrggghhh...:censored: :censored: :cussing: :rant went back to town for what I thought was the right hub socket according to the book at the auto parts store...wrong again. This is getting frustrating. If anyone has the part number and maker for a hub socket that will fit a 97 with a d60...

How hard is it to change out the rotors

well I drove 20min to the three closest auto parts stores... guess which hub socket they don't have... if you guessed the one for a 97 f350 d60 with auto locking hubs you win. Had to order it, luckily it will be at the store in 2hours but now I get to drive back again to pick it up. Plus no...

Be careful about what you buy. I have been told that when the pumps are rebuilt they pay no attention to which pumps need the humped cover and which are the 15degree. the only way to know for sure is to pull the rear cover and look for the bushing. the 15degree have a bearing the 17 have a...
