What is the best code reader?

Some quick research showed that the OTC/Mac/Matco is far more expensive than the autoenginuity, but will the OTC/Mac/Matco do something the unit from autoenginuity won't?

What is the best code reader?

Ok, I understand I don't want the cheap scan tool from a chain parts store. But what is the difference between what you are reccommending and what Bushpilot reccommends.

    "03 6.0 won't start

its about 32 degrees here today, but when I filled up the other day, I added powerservice cetane boost, antigel and fuel system cleaner. Not to mention the fuel was bought locally,(should be treated?) and the truck was fully warmed and running fine less than an hour before Bush if you would...

    "03 6.0 won't start

The truck was running earlier today, I started it on the auto start, and went outside when it suddenly died. I tried to restart it several times, and the first few times it would fire and immediately die. I was thinking I had seen gas engines do this before, so lets change the fuel filters...

What is the best code reader?

'03 F-250 superduty crewcab 6.0. 57,000 miles. I bought this truck with 50,000 miles on it. My truck is still under engine warranty, but I can see where a good code reader would be helpful. My truck is in the shop for the second time now in 7,000 miles. The first time was when a shift solenoid...

Dodge 5.9 vs ford 6.0 in MPG

Ok, thanks to all. I'll try to force my truck to stay at 1800 rpms. I dont know what speed that's going to work out to yet though. My truck has 285/75-16s with 3.73 gears and a dealer recalibration for the tires. So I'll try it on the way to work tomorrow and see what speed 1800 rpms work out to be.

    2006 F250 6.0 milage ???

I was getting about 17-18 mpg with only an aftermarket exhaust, driving 70 mph. I've installed a banks sixgun and their intake kit. ahaven't had it long enough for an eval though. The thing that gets me is how are all these 6.0's getting 20 or more mpg. I had my tuner set on "3" and still was...

Dodge 5.9 vs ford 6.0 in MPG

OK, that makes a lot more sense.I've also noticed a few others that apparently drive about 70 mph, that are getting roughly 18 mpg as well. Although Idon't knowif they are stock.

Dodge 5.9 vs ford 6.0 in MPG

Thanks, Dave. I don't have the overhead console on my truck, so my MPG is always figured by hand. A guy I work with claims 20 Mpg,but I know he's using the console read out. Although I notice atk is claiming 23 MPG @ 55 MPH. I have to admit that I can't get my truck to go that slow though.

Dodge 5.9 vs ford 6.0 in MPG

Hi guys. I'm a total newbie, both to diesels, and to this forum. I also wonder what's up with my truck. I have a 2003 F250 6.0 crew cab 4X4, automatic tranny, 56,000 miles with 285/75-16's. 4" aftermarket exhaust. Stock Tune, and a tonneau cover. I keep hearing I should be getting 20 MPG. I've...
