    truck won't start

Mine was not quite the same symptoms; but mine turened out to be a bad high pressure oil pump caused by the coolant side of thew oil cooler being plugged. I believe this to be a prevoius owner's negligence. Hope yours is a simpler/cheaper fix.

Question New take on EGR cooler delete

I have an idea, and would like you guys to pickit apart and find any problems you think it may have. EGR cooler delete: different design. Why not block the coolant from even going through the intake? It does not need to, and that is not the only path the coolant takes. It will increase...

I almost had a heartattack today...

The way I see it: your truck is yours, just like mine is mine; do with it as you wish. Though, out of curiosity, would you happen to have an estimated weight on that load?

Help Needed I'm stumped here guys. Could I get some input?

WOOHOO! Some parts arrived. Now I can get to reassembly. Prices were not too bad either. The HP pump was $350.00 new, and the oil cooler was $225.00 new. Both were bought off ebay. I had not originally planned on replacing the oil cooler, but a 1500PSI powerwasher could only get a dribble...

Help Needed I'm stumped here guys. Could I get some input?

Yup. The panel is there, just folded under to show there was a path for debris to get through; it was ripped before I pulled it out. Engine is still in chassis, but the cab has been pulled off. I have been cleaning as I go. Oil logs have been pulled and cleaned, intake manifold had a LOT...

Ok, before ya'll hassle me about the crappy pics, please remember they were taken with a camera phone. I have more pictures with all the internals if anyone wants more. Damaged High Pressure Oil Pump:

Help Needed I'm stumped here guys. Could I get some input?

I had thought about it before, but the truck was running fine at the time. So yeah, now that I am pretty sure it is the pump, I'll see if they can use me. Hah, ...I want to be used.

Help Needed I'm stumped here guys. Could I get some input?

Well, I got an itch to disassemble the HP pump today. There is some light internal damage. There is a small chunk of aluminium missing from the oil's pathways inside the housing and it looks as if that/those piece(s) got lodged between the side of the housing and the swashplate causing the...

Help Needed I'm stumped here guys. Could I get some input?

Hmm, I can not hook up the scantool without the cab set back down on the truck. I guess I will have to put in a mechanical gauge and check actual pressure. How easy are high pressue oil gauges to locate for purchase? Will that even work the way I am thinking? Thnx

    Question Bad Fuel Injector

Hmm, now that I review a cutaway of an injector, I am not sure there could be enough damage to cause that much oil to get sucked out of the log.

Help Needed I'm stumped here guys. Could I get some input?

Yeah, I hear the pumps are a common replacement; I was just hoping that my problem was something else. I will have to put some of it back together in order to crank it and get oil flow. I guess it is time to get back to it. :TY I'll report back with what I find.

Help Needed I'm stumped here guys. Could I get some input?

I did not know ICP pressure was calculated. That means it could maybe still be the pump then. -Autoenginuity w/Ford bundle on laptop -Yes, no codes -ICP was from scan tool (I looked at voltage, but do not recall what it was) -IPR screen was/is not broken, just had what looked like very...

Help Needed I'm stumped here guys. Could I get some input?

Yep. They worked very well. The two on the front are 5000lb and the two on the back are 10,000lb. I was going to use chainfalls, but decided to go with straps for they are less prone to scratching the paint. ;tu

    Question Bad Fuel Injector

I guess it could be possible for the injector to have mechanical damage where it is dumping oil into the cylinder ('sucking' the oil from the oil log). If enough oil is sucked out of the log, it would drop oil pressure and could prevent the engine from starting. :dunno That is my guess. Maybe...

Help Needed I'm stumped here guys. Could I get some input?

Finally got around to working more on my F250. Here is where I stand with it now: -Truck is still a crank no start. :rant -ICP replaced, reads 550PSI during cranking -Fuel pressure manually read at ~47PSI during cranking (from test port on secondary fuel filter housing) -Oil level is good...

    Question Test for good/bad HPOP?

Well, the dealer claimed that the HPOP needed replaced as does one injector. So I pulled out the pump, but I do not see anything physically wrong with it. Is there any tests that can be done (out of engine) to determine if it is building enough pressure or not? I personally feel that the pump...

    Question Cab height for removal

How high does the cab need to go in order to clear everything for removal. Looking for a distance in feet, if somebody has measured it before. Reason I ask is that I want to pull the cab to do some engine repairs and do not have access to a hydraulic lift. So I will have to build a crane...

Help Needed HPOP pressure (dealer vs autoenginuity)

Well, below is where I sit as of now. Started at 10:30PM yesterday, but was not at it constantly the whole time. Going to take a break for a bit here and get a couple hours of sleep. I'll get back to it when I get up. I did however find a couple interesting things as I was tearing into it...

Help Needed HPOP pressure (dealer vs autoenginuity)

:lmao I know where you are coming from. That is why I implemented the, "If it is my truck, I will haul what I want. If you don't like it, start walking." rule. ;tu I'll be tearing into her tonight as soon as the rollback delivers her. On a side note, Midland Ford (Midland, MI) has just...

Help Needed HPOP pressure (dealer vs autoenginuity)

Wholy wah! That stinks. Depending on how much I trust my vehicles, I always carry some tools and parts around with me for long trips. One of my recent Fieros had an entire spare distributor unit in the trunk at all times though, along with the tools to replace it. ...and a timing light just...

Help Needed HPOP pressure (dealer vs autoenginuity)

I have not talked to the shop directly yet, message was a voicemail. I am stopping by in the morning to pay my diagnostic fee and do some negotiating. I replaced the ICP sensor on new years eve '08; but not the IPR. Oil level was good, actually a bit high. Checked before I took it in...

Help Needed HPOP pressure (dealer vs autoenginuity)

Hey all. I admitted defeat and hauled the SD into the dealer for diagnosis. Truck is a crank-no-start. They called and said, as of right now, there is one bad injector and the HPOP is not building enough pressure to start engine. I used Autoenginuity's scan tool, and the ICP read 550PSI...

Question Constant power to glow plugs?

Well, she still will not start; and on top of that, my backup vehicle is now eating about a gallon of coolant a week. The super duty is getting hauled in at 9am today for a professional diagnosis. Thanks for the help and suggestions.
