    Auxiliary fuel tank

My personal best is driving from Pipestone, MN to Plainview, TX in one day. 3 stops for fuel, combined with a bathroom run. No food, little water. 1070 miles. Just me, my 6.0, and a whole lot of the great plains. Next time, I hope I have a bigger fuel tank.

    Tire Size vs Mileage

I know this gets covered all the time, but.... I have an 05 6.0 4WD. 265/70/17's in need of replacement. The best I have ever gotten at 75 cruise is 19.4 MPG. Only once. Usually around 17 if I'm lucky. Farm/town type driving nets me 11-14 all the time. I keep records on every tank...

    DIY Tint done... results, thoughts

Nice. My 05 came with some tint when I bought it used. The drivers window is missing a 1/2 slice in the corner of the dropped window, kinda like the sheet wasn't quite big enough. More annoying, however, is the passenger rear window is getting some bubbles/waves. Can't see from the outside...

    $12,000.....

Ah well, kids gotta learn sometime. My 15 year old sister drives my SD quite a bit. If she learns to drive in it, she can park and backup and whatever in anything.

    05 6.0 Exhaust Odor

It may be the cat, and when I had it off I could still smell it from the cat being in the area. I just unbolted it and some hangers and dropped it down. This is my first PSD. I have smelled some others, but not when side by side. I will check on an 07 this week.

    05 6.0 Exhaust Odor

I can't smell it in the cab, unless the passenger door stays open for a while. It's done it on LSD, and ULSD. I can take it the dealer next time I'm in town.

    05 6.0 Exhaust Odor

I have a 2005 6.0 with 60,000 miles. The exhaust has always had a smell to it. It seems to be most noticeable right after start up and initial warm up, but it's there all the time. It's been this way before and after any dealer re-flashes I've gotten, but I bought it used, so not sure what it...

    High Idle Switch

The thing I find with using the BCP just for idleing up is that it will rev up way higher than 1200 on start up. I have a volt meter wired in my gauges, and there's sure not much more than 12 V there for the first minute or so after start up. If you run BCP right away, the idle tends to get up...

    I hope Ford reads this.....

With a tilt front, they loose alot of mounting area for electrical and such. Besides, if it were open from the side, it would be tricky to reach alot of stuff too. Only you wouldn't be leaning up against grill or sheetmetal to reach in there. I have always liked working on tractors that open...

    Trailer Tire Questions

Most really large trailers, (dual wheel, tandem axle goosnecks, for example) come with LT's.

    ladder bars???

So you don't think that my ride would soften up any? By putting some replacement bags in there my ride on air wouldn't be softer than on flexing steel?

    ladder bars???

Now how well would it work to install traction/ladder bars, remove some of the leaves in the spring pack, and add air bags to make up for this? Would be ride quality improve significantly?

Looking for New Rear Differential Cover

The big fancy one is a mag hytec, google it, but it won't be cheap like the 08 one.

    Got my MRI Results Back...

Ever been to a chiropractor since this all started? My dad has a fairly bad back, always been that was as I can remember, and his farming lifestyle hasn't ever helped it. About 10 years ago he had a herniated disc, and it damaged the syatic (sp) nerve to one leg. The nerve damage is done of...

    Auto Shut Off Fuel Nozzle

Well I was there today, filled up at a different nozzle (another pet peave, cars hogging the diesel areas, there's only 4 diesel pumps). The nozzle I used this time worked fine, of course. Anyways, I drove around by the nozzle in question again, and it was quite clear that there had been...

    Air Bags

Which Kelderman setup do you long for? The full blown 4 link, or the airbaged shackle setup?

    Air Bags

Oh yeah, minor detail..... I pull livestock trailers, weights vary of course. Not sure how heavy the heaviest will be in the future, but 10K trailers aren't out of question. No gooseneck in the truck right now, still debating that.

    Auto Shut Off Fuel Nozzle

Yes, I've seen signs like that before, not sure if they were here. I didn't really leave the pump unattended. I had the driver's door open and I was half inside talking to my passenger. I heard the pump click and went to the nozzle, but then found it to be flowing. To stand there and hold...

    Air Bags

Anybody running air bags on either of their axles? Not so much for increased loading, but for softening up the ride unloaded? Anybody have Kelderman Air Rides? Ford - Truck - Air Ride Suspension Systems - Kelderman Manufacturing Simple idea, is it worth the money. I am trying to smooth my...

    Auto Shut Off Fuel Nozzle

I was filling up at a Murphy Fuel Station last week, waiting on the tank to be full. I heard it get closer to full, and then I heard the nozzle click. But it kept on pumping! I pressed in the flap the nozzle usually pushes up to shut the pump down. Less than a gallon probably spilt, I didn't...

    Hello from Germany

Welcome aboard. Forget the diesel price, how much does it cost you to pay the road taxes on a beast that heavy? You're lucky it's not a 4x4.

    After market wheels problems

Hub centric wheels sit on the hub of the truck, a tightly machined setup. The inner lip of the wheel bears all the weight straight to a lip on the hub of the truck. This makes the wheels harder to get off, especially on semi's and such, but it bears the weight much better, and is dead on...

Is there a plumber in the house?

The pressure switch on our residential system is right on the tank, most I have seen have been this way. But lately our's hasn't been working too great either, granted it is from the 80's....

Is there a plumber in the house?

There should be a schrader valve (valve stem type) that you can check your bladder's pressure with, just using a tire pressure gauge.

    After market wheels problems

I have also heard that no aftermarket wheels are hubcentric.
