Question Headlight swap between different models

I have a 2000 F-250 PSD and I would like to swap to headlights from a 2004 F-250. Do these interchange without modification? Can anyone recommend where to get headlights from an '04 F-250? I like the clear lens better than the "frosted" type that came with my 2000 PSD. One picture attached is...

Smoky, Stop by anytime. I don't have time to detail it now because I'm so busy with school, but feel free to drop by. Drew

    Do you clean your engine?

I spray the engine (cool and dry) with Simple Green. Then I take a paint brush and wipe things off that are really dirty. Then I rinse it off with as little water as possible. I then crank it for about 5-10 minutes to build up heat in the engine compartment, helping it to dry faster. After it is...

    Broke off!!

Fuel Pressure Regulator Booster Housing Well, I think I figured out that it is the return line leaving the fuel bowl. The link above is the only place I have found it so far. Anyone use this one yet. It says that it raises the fuel pressure, so I won't have to add the washers or BB to...

    Broke off!!

I was doing the fuel pressure regulator mod to increase the fuel pressure. I just snapped the male threaded fitting off where the fuel line comes into the driver's side of the fuel bowl. I knew it was pot metal. I barely put any force on it and it snapped off. Where can I get a replacement...

    Question Stancor problems

The pictures aren't loading for the 99-03 shimming of the FPR. Is it the same as the 94-97 pics? The plug I removed yesterday was different than the one seen in the 94-97 pics (on the TikiWiki). Does anyone have pics for the 99-03 7.3L? Drew

    Question Stancor problems

Big Joe and dpantazis, Where is the fuel pressure regulator (FPR) located? I plan on cleaning the fuel bowl after class tomorrow. I've been thinking about doing the mod to the FPR where I install a few #4 SS washers under the brass sleeve. Do you guys recommend this? Does this affect fuel...

    Question Stancor problems

Well, right before I removed the fuel pump I checked the fuel pressure. With key on engine off I showed 60psi and 60psi with engine running at the fuel bowl (aft plug). As soon as I shut the truck off, the pressure dropped rapidly to zero. I removed the pump and looked it over, then reinstalled...

    How many fuel filters?

Is there only one fuel filter installed on a 2000 F-250 PSD? The only one I know of is the one under the hood on top of the engine. Is there a screen or prefilter anywhere? I'm changing my fuel pump this afternoon and I want to change filters also. Drew

    Question Stancor problems

Big Joe, I just laid under the truck with my wife in the seat to turn the key on. With the neighborhood quiet, I could barely hear any noise at all when the key was turned on and my head was about 12" from the pump. Also, I put my hand on the pump. I'm not sure if it is just fuel passing...

    Question Stancor problems

Well, my fuel pump on the frame rail is not working. I checked the voltage at the fuel pump plug (about 12" prior to the fuel pump and it is getting 12V with key on and 14V with engine running). Is it common to have fuel pumps quit? Where is the best/cheapest place to get a replacement pump? Drew

    Question Stancor problems

I checked voltage drop on both batteries yesterday. Key off: 12.5V battery, 12.5V hot side of GPR Key run position: 11.7V at battery, 11.2-11.3V hot side of GPR, 11.2V switch side of GPR (other heavy post) Engine running: 14.1V at batteries, 14.1V hot side of GPR. I cleaned both negative...

    Question Stancor problems

I'm about to go check my Stancor GPR for voltage drop. My truck is slow to start again. I replaced both batteries within the last 6 months (they are both new Interstate batteries 1000CA). I had them load tested independently about 1-2 months ago and they tested good. Alternator tested fine. The...

    Help Needed Truck just died!!

Well, I dumped 3 gallons of diesel in it, drained some of the fuel in the fuel heater/fuel filter bowl. It did seem to have some air in it. Then I cranked the truck. It sure ran rough for about 5 minutes of driving. I went down and filled it full with diesel and ran it hard for about 5-10...

    Help Needed Truck just died!!

I'll have to check the tach when I walk back to my truck. So I'm guessing that the tach should move as the truck turns over. If not, does this mean the CPS is bad. Oil level is fine. I changed the oil probably 500-1000 miles ago.

    Help Needed Truck just died!!

My 2000 F-250 just died on me. I have about 1/4 tank of fuel in it. I've noticed in the last few days that it is taking just a little bit longer to start. I just checked all my glow plugs 1-2 months ago. The batteries were just checked at the same time. I have the Stancor GPR. As I was driving a...

Just in case anyone was wondering

Here are a few pics of the passenger side valve cover removed. Sorry about the picture quality, I used my cell phone for the pics. In the third picture, the glow plug wire is a light yellow color just above and to the right of the injector assembly (which is brown and in the middle of the...

Just in case anyone was wondering

Stroked68, I just had one bad glow plug. I changed all of them about 2-3 yrs ago. Since I've changed them before, this time was a breeze. I just removed the passenger side intercooler duct, passenger side valve cover, unplugged the glow plug, removed the glow plug, and then reinstalled the...

Just in case anyone was wondering

Just in case anyone was wondering, the 7.3L Powerstroke can run on only 4 injectors and 4 glow plugs. After changing out a bad glow plug today, I reassembled everything, then cranked the truck and let it run about 5-10 minutes. Then, I pulled the valve cover plug to check the resistance again on...

    Turbo bearing bad?

Well, I just finished changing the passenger side front glow plug. I check all the glow plugs this morning and that one was 10.5 ohms. The rest were 0.9-1.0 ohms. When I had the passenger side intercooler duct out, I noticed that I had oil sitting in there. There was enough oil that when I...
