    Subs connected, disconnecting the sup input leads at the amp and the sub remains sucked in until you either cut power, or disconnect the wires from the amp to the sub. Im using 8 gauge for the ground, about a foot long...and 8 gauge for the power, about a two feet long from the distribution...

    I dont have a JL amp...its a MTX 5 channel thats in right now, just using the 5th channel to run the subs to make sure they work. I have the JL 10w3v2 subs. I disconnected the ground and the light was still on...and its red...not sure if the red is just their power light or if it should be...

    I unplugged the RCA's and the subs still remain sucked in...retracted. Not sure how to explain it... ...and the amp is getting REALLY hot. My 4 channel amp is doing just fine...not hot at all.

    Yes, the subwoofer output is turned on, and the dual zone is disabled. Tried that several times just to be sure. Would a bad ground to the amp cause a problem like this? I disconnected the ground on the amp and the light was still on....wondering if the ground may not be good to produce any...

    I put my 08 speaker panels in today. I took my dremmel and extended the slots for the two clips downward. Then notched the factory door panel lip where the new 08 pod hits...fits great now, all the way down to the panel. No more 1/4" gap. Ill get pics...

    My brother in law works at a ford dealer so I was able to pick these up at a good price. I will get some aftermarket speakers with a real crossover, but this will do for now. Thanks for the help!

    Thanks. I ordered a set of the 08 covers with speakers today. Pairing them up with my factory door speakers. Ill upgrade to some component speakers later, but for the time being how would I wire these tweeters in with the factory speakers? Just tap into the 6x8 and use the bass blockers?

    No install bezel required? My opening looks the same as my buddies 99...he had the kenwood DNX7100 installed with a bezel around it to fill the space. The Kenwood is double din unit...so i guess im a little confused.

    In my experience Ive never had a sound like this from pinion angle. The pinion is almost dead on straight with the driveshaft, and I need to bring id down just a tad...or make the carrier bearing spacers shorter to get a bit more angle on the driveshaft.     Well, I figured it out. Looks like I pinched the wires of the rear speed sensor and cut them clean. spliced them back together, and good as new. whoops!
