    Good information. However, that sound I'm hearing is not at shifts, it's WOT or close to WOT - when the boost builds up a good ways, just listen to the incab movie I made.

    Factory boost - sorry, no aftermarket gauges yet. I ditched whatever type of reuseable filter that was in there and went with Purolators drop in. I'll take a look at all the clamps tomorrow. Sound has pretty much been there since I've had the truck, about two months.

    Sounds good about that custom made leak testing method. How does my turbo sound in the upper RPMs compared to you guys? I'm more used of a high pitch whistle even at full boost versus my "SHHHHHHHHHH" sound, that's why I thought there might be a leak.

    I've looked again, no fresh oil anywhere. Where would the oil come from to blow out through the intercooler piping boots? Crankcase vent?

    True. I seem to always get my diesel from this one BP/Amoco station that's on the way home from work, and I always look for the ULSD sticker, they still have the LSD sticker still on all the pumps.

    Thanks for the help Dave! I'll see what I can find, Im curious though.. why doesn't Ford use their 9-3/4'' instead of Dana? I dont know the ring gear size on a 50, but I know the 60 is the same as the 9 3/4 except for Ford having two more bolt holes in the cover.

    I'm a Machinist, I might be able to provide some insight into what you are doing. First, how deep do you need to go? I assume you are doing this with a hand/pistol drill? Decent cutting fluid is probably a good idea, WD-40 can work - I've used it before when I didnt have anything else at home...

    I got a C1 code for "axle", I assume that means rear axle though? Maybe it'll tell what the front is as well?

    Some of those gauges would be dummy gauges, they show something but it might not be accurate. That's what I think.

    Yeah it was similar to that at times, try what I did. Some silicone spray.

    Been almost a month, and the window has still been functioning properly in 60 down to 34 degree weather without replacing anything, just a little silicone spray down the tracks. We'll see how long until it slows down again.

    If the factory gauge is accurate, that's an easy 10PSI over the average stock 7.3 from what I gather.
