    On my Excursion I can leave the truck running and lock the doors with the keypad. I do it every morning when I go out to warm the truck up. Its my poor man's remote start......:dunno

    code for door keypad

    On the Excursion the keypad code is on a label on the VSM. The VSM in my Excursion is under the dash. I've been told if you remove the mystery hook and look up inside with a flashlight you should be able to see the label. Look at my pics and you'll see some pics of my old VSM.

    I couldn't find an email address for ya so I posted them here. Not much inside of it either. I think I know why the range on the key fobs are so limited. Notice the antenna on the circuit board? That thing is inside of the case and buried way up under the dash.

    Not the keypad. To be honest I'm not surprised that it was not the keypad. I brought it back in late yesterday so they could install the keypad and it still is not working. Since Monday is a holiday and I'm still not really driving I told them to keep it and keep looking.

    Wiring them up is going to be my big issue. I'm not familair with how/where everything is wired up on the Truck. I want to do a good job and don't want to cause any electrical issues with the rest of the truck. I would appreciate any help you or anyone could give me. Thanks!

    What is everyone doing for roof racks. I know the stock ones are bad and will scrap the paint. Has anyone replaced the support rods with something else but still using the Excursion's tracks that are mounted on the roof?
