Diesel Site Coolant Filter installation issue

Moving the radiator would help, but I don't see how that is possible. I see that there is play in the upper mounts to move, but aren't the lower mounts fixed in place?

Diesel Site Coolant Filter installation issue

Diesel Site Coolant Filter *Update* When I replaced my water pump last December I purchased Diesel Site's coolant filter kit for the 7.3L, but I have yet to install it because it will not fit between my upper radiator hose (it goes outside the belt) and my Volant cold air intake. I have...

Water Pump Torque Specifications and O-Ring Lubricant

Shroud, fan and fan clutch, belt, and old hoses have been removed and a coolant filter kit has been ordered. Can someone please tell me the torque ratings for the water pump bolts, pulley bolts, lower elbow bolts? Is the use of thread locker recommended? Also, the generic pump installation...

    Antifreeze clean up

My water pump is on the way out. It told me that it was nearing retirement by dumping a quart or two of coolant on my brother's driveway over Thanksgiving. We moved the truck into the street and hosed off the driveway, but a dark spot remains. :dunno Any ideas on how to clean this up...

315/75R16 tires less than ideal for towing?

I recently drove from North Texas to Corpus Christi with a GCW of 17,500 lbs. The truck pulled like there was nothing behind it along all the flat sections, but the short and steep ups and downs betwen Austin and San Antonio made me have to think about what I was doing. In order to hold...

SuperDuty Tow & Transport Pics (What Are You Pulling Out There)

1978 Bronco It is pretty cool having my old Ford on the trailer behind the new Ford. Also funny how this rig gets better mileage than the Bronco alone. :hail 7.3 Powerstroke

    33" tires on stock f-250

On what sort of wheels are your tires mounted? Do you have any rubbing issues in the front when turning? I have the same size tires on stock rims and they rub the springs when fully turned.

Any experiences with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires?

I just found them today while browsing tire prices. Goodyear sure makes some big claims as to their performance. Does anyone here have any experience with them?

Question pre pump filter and move fuel pump back?

If only this were the case, our hydrogen powered car dilemma would be solved by Ford Diesel fuel pumps!

    Fuel Pressure Check Procedure

I did put in a second shim. The gauge I was using is only marked up to 60 psi, but judging by how far beyond 60 the needle swings, I am confident it is just under 70 psi at idle. Impressions: The truck feels and sounds a little smoother while idling. The change is so slight that I would...

I had the windows tinted. 35% on the fronts and 5% on all the rest. So much cooler now:cool:

    6spd fluid

Mad Jack hooked me up with full synthetic ATF for good prices. I purchased the 2.5 gallon jug and did the transmission and transfer case and have been very pleased with the AMSOIL product.

    Question Steering Damper Replacement

Yes sir, I second that advice. I replaced my stabilizer a month ago and had check just this. The attachment hardware at the tie rod end of the cylinder can be moved to give you full steering range.

    FPR Broke

I did, but the page looks like it could use some maintenance. None of the pictures worked and the first few steps were kind of garbled together. Great write up though:sweet

    FPR Broke

I was reading through some old posts and found this through a link in Early 99 Stroker's signiture: DieselORings.com - Fuel Bowl FPR Housing Their price is 37.49 with shipping starting at 3.72. They also sell the compression sleeve for 2.31. The Ford dealer sold me the housing for 57.36.

    FPR Broke

Background I was shimming for more pressure and broke the housing. Any recommendations on how to get one in the DFW area other than going to for and paying out the nose for it?

    Fuel Pressure Check Procedure

Yesterday I measured 62 psi at idle after one shim, so I set about putting a second one in hoping for around 68 psi. Sadly, the little housing broke while I was assembling it the second time. The local Ford dealer wants fifty-seven dollars and change for it, and I am not excited in the least...
