    2012 Tail Gate was stolen

Ouch!!! I guess the camera and step add costs (didn't know the camera was in the tailgate!?). And yeah, prep & paint for sure adds fast. But I'm still stunned...

    2012 Tail Gate was stolen

Back to top....i don't understand how a tailgate can cost $3500? My truck might be worth 2x that? Heck, the 100 gal diesel tank under the cover doesn't hold $3500 after 10 fills. How can a tailgate cost that much? (Of course, I also don't understand how somebody could steal it either)

    Question Heater control

Also...the recent leak on my '02 turned out to be the vacuum seal at the passenger side front. Yes, by unplugging hoses but plugging the barbs at the vacuum box by the pump, you should eliminate hoses AND seals and be able to eliminate one by one. My hub lines are still original. But hub seals...

Tranny work finally...and an update -- been away too long

Long time no post. Been super busy and since the truck has been mostly trouble free I forget to look on this site. Merry Christmas/Happy New Year everbody! :) Finally decided to address the dripping tranny fluid. $1385 otd from the only (good) local shop for new seal, torque converter etc...

    Time for tranny work

Thanks guys, My bad, there is a drain plug of course--I confused myself with the differential cover (senior moment!). This leak is coming off the bell housing in front of the pan and since it sets higher than the pan I'd say the leak is "up there somewhere". Yes, sure I am monitoring fluid...

    Time for tranny work

Ok, I've known sooner or later it would be time....it's time. I have a tranny leak, several drops after stopping every day. I suppose it's the gasket (much of the housing has oil on it). When I put in reverse after start I hear a slight noise of some sort and sounds like the engine speed changes...

Question Fuel leaking from bell housing

If you get all the parts -- yes. BUT you need to get rubber grommets to go onto the ends of all the fuel lines. I believe there are 4 and of 3 different diameters, like 1/4, 5/16, 3/8 iirc. I cannot remember for sure the sizes -- and they're a bit tough to get. The IH versions are a very tight...

I just love learning cad software

Dogman - Youtube videos are what I'm using as support material to teach an intro to autocad and autocad architecture...the challenge is finding the "good" ones from all the junk out there! But you can start/stop and watch over again...

Question Fuel leaking from bell housing

Assuming your truck is 8 or 12 years old...the fuel bowl probably needs a rebuild. I was surprised how bad some of the o-rings were when I did mine at about the 10yr mark. I used a kit from DIesel O-rings that was full of simple to follow instructions. There's plenty of points to leak just from...

    Door ajar light

Several folks with this problem over the years report a serious dousing with WD40 cured it. I had the problem once and did that but was a bit more careful with the amount I used. I think it can be as simple as being crud on the switch stem.

    Question Cold Air Intakes

I sprung for an AFE (see my sig and I have some photos somewhere on this site) and never looked back. Original filter after 8 years. Bought the extra cover for it and replaced it once. Pricey, for sure. But I liked the specs on the filtration vs pressure drop compared to Banks, who can't or...

Por-15 - yes. I did it the hard way 2 summers ago and it is excellent. I'm just now outgrowing some of it that ran down my forearms as I lay on my back painting it on the underside because I didn't pull the bed. !!

I agree...if only there were more hours in a day! I have a list of stuff to do on the beast...trannie is beginning to drip, fuel pressure sender seems to be shot (or the fpr has gone south), oil in the valley after a 4-year dry spell, etc etc ...

    fuel bowl cover

There was a thread here a while back and some genius informed us that there are (iirc) 3 different mounts for the 7.3L plastic PSD cover. I removed mine a long time ago and prefer the "naked" look anyhow. Just my opinion!

    Update New Forum Color!

Hey CHP, I cannot find the "undo" button "vB4 Default Style" anymore. I prefer a lighter background and darker text to the inverse...but my system reset sometime in the past few months after I first changed it back, and now I can't find the button. I've been meaning to ask about this! Can you...
