2001 Diesel 4wd. quit.
So the recall is just an update to the circuit that cancels the cruise when you apply the brakes? Seems to me we had the same recall on a '93 half ton that we had a few years ago.- ridndirty

2001 Diesel 4wd. quit.
4wd works again, had to replace the actuator motor on the t-case. Now I have to try to get the cruise working. What is the cruise recall for? Does it make the cruise work better, or is the cruise control quitting on some trucks?- ridndirty

Does anyone know if there is a common fuse or relay with the 4wd. switch and the cruise control? Last weekend I found out that I had lost 4wd. on my truck (2001 diesel crewcab) indicator lights are not working on the selector switch for 2, 4hi or 4low. 95bamastroked, thats awesome that you figured it out, I remember how good it felt when my truck fired up after a couple of days chasing my tail around the shop. I think Tbar is right though, you should pull your tank (or tanks) they must be full of dirt too. In the near future I want to install...- ridndirty

I think the plastic I used was PVC, and I didnt take any pictures because it was late and I needed the truck running the next day, or I would have bought the ones from from the dealer. I think for the peace of mind, you should spend the 16 dollars and buy them, I'm just hoping that my fab...- ridndirty

I read on here somewhere that if your tach needle bounces a little when you are cranking the engine over, then your cps is OK. I made my own uvc harness wedges out of thin plastic that I had laying around in the shop. You still have to remove the valve covers to install them though.- ridndirty

Almost the same, but I found my problem at around 10:30 pm, and didnt want to wait till the next day to see if anybody had any in stock, so I made mine.- ridndirty

My truck had the same symptoms a couple weeks ago. Went through the whole fuel system, even did the Hutch mod, still wouldnt run. Bit the bullet and pulled the valve covers, (wasnt that bad) and the problem was easy to see. The plug retainers on the wire harness get weak, living in hot oil all...- ridndirty
