Block heater questions
Well, I figured out most of my problem... My starter was fubar. Whoever installed it cross-threaded one of the bolts. A buddy noticed it throwing sparks when I tried to start it yesterday (at 10 degrees). I had cycled the glow plugs TEN times before I started trying to start it, then 5...- 03F250

How much power does the block heater on my truck draw? It's the '03 7.3L diesel. Is it feasible to think that I could run an inverter and plug the block heater into the inverter to warm up the engine when it's really cold? If so, how big of an inverter would I need and how long does it...- 03F250

Ok, so I got a mini-torch at Lowe's and some PB Blaster. The PB blaster is flammable, though, so I don't think I'm gonna be using them together. :D So, I guess I need to hit them with some heat first since the PB Blaster won't evaporate and I'll end up igniting it if I do the heat 2nd...- 03F250

Ok, so I started on it and it's evident it's not gonna be that simple. I pulled the two rear bed bolts out with little fuss. With an 18" breaker bar, they didn't really put up that much of a fight. So, I just looked at it. Looks like... 2 bolts on each tail light (8mm) 3 bolts on the fuel filler (7mm) 8 (I think) Torx bolts on the bed (T-50) 4 bolts for my safety hooks for the Gooseneck hitch After that, it should just lift right off, right? I know I'm overthinking it...- 03F250

How will this tow?
Just used the truck this weekend to pull the Jeep for the first time. I'd pulled a smaller, lighter Cherokee with it already, but this was the first real test. I pulled my Jeep (~6,000 lbs) about 300 miles with a total of about 2500' elevation change over the total route. No huge mountain...- 03F250

No, no, no. I mean 11k total. Jeep is 6k, trailer is 4k, and I guess about 1k or so of miscellaneous supplies. I think 11k trailer weight is what I'll be pulling. Yep, the 03 F250 is the tow rig now. I will be getting a brake controller installed at the same time I pick up the trailer...- 03F250

I finally picked up a trailer for my Jeep. As I stated in my first post, the reason for buying this truck was to use as a tow rig for my 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Good idea. I'll look at a junk yard one of these days. I'm sure I'll procrastinate a bit, but one day I'll dive into one when I'm going by. I don't think the exhaust brake is stuck because I think it's inop completely.- 03F250
