    Currently I am driving the F 550 on the weekend only, but I will be using it to tow a large 5'r. So far I am very pleased with the regearing. Fuel economy has gone up and the truck is much quieter since the motor isn't screaming all the time. :thumbs

    I would like to replace the stock air filter to turbo hose with a unit that has less restiction/turbulance. I made one for a Dodge I use to have, but can't seem to find anything to work on the 7.3. Has anyone made a replaement? I have a AFE Stage 1 installed. Any help would be appreciated.

    Well, I had the change done from the 4:88's to the 4:10's. What a difference in the rpm's. I bet I have droppd 600 -700 rpm @ 65 mph.     I have been looking at regearing the rear from 4:88's to a 4:10. Got some good info here and finally found someone to do the job. He has a good rep. and is wanting $1,500.00 to get it done. New Ring and Pinion, Carrier, Bearings and Pinion Seal. R & R included. Does this sound like a good price?

    I am looking to reduce the rpm's I am running at cruising at higher speeds, 65/70 and hopfully save some fuel. With the 488 gears I am running at 2500+ rpm at 65 mph. If I was to change to 410's would I see a substantial decrease in engine speed and in turn fuel economy?

    Timbren, Firestone, or Air Lift Airbags

    I had them on a 03 Dodge 2500 4x4 I had and they worked very well when I had my 5'r on the truck. Cut down on the body roll and the ride wasn't that bad unloaded.

    Best chip for 7.3

    I put a Diablo in with a 54 hp setting and a 96 hp setting. I am very satisfied and have seen a dramatic increase in fuel economy. Still waiting to hand calulate it, but the overhhead has gone up 5 mpg running on 96 hp and normal driving where before I was showing 13 mpg I am now showing 18+.
