    Oil leak and hard start

My guess on the leak would be the pedestal seals or the EBPV actuator arm seal on the pedestal. Not sure if either of those would affect the starting problem though??? I'm sure someone else will chime in with the exact answer and you'll be up and running in no time.;tu

    EBPV not working.

Might be a stoopid question.... but what is this "tube" you speak of?? I ask because my EBPV is not working after recent turbo re-install, doesn't idle up either.

Installed ported housing, now maybe issue's????

Thanks! All that stuff checks out BJS. Zookie, that got my attention. I checked a few other websites from companies that provide wastegate actuators and a few that do have instructions say to "pre-load" the actuator when hooking it up. I did not do that, there was absolutely no...

Installed ported housing, now maybe issue's????

I was reading the Banks installation instructions for their Big head actuator and they say to pre-load the arm before installing. I didn't do this on mine, could that be the problem? I better find Ron's number again and see if I can get any info out of him on that part of it.

Installed ported housing, now maybe issue's????

Okay, first of all I'm not real familiar with the terminology of some of these parts so bear with me. I installed a ported turbo housing from Ron's and now I seem to have some concerns. The turbo seem's to be working fine, all I really have to go by is the "whistle" since that is...

Oil in the CCV bypass tube???

As far as I know there is NO performance advantage. The purpose is to keep the air intake and turbo housing free of the oil residue. And after seeing what my bypass tube looks like I'm glad the oil is in there and not in my intake tube. Dripping on the exhaust would probably not be a good...

Adding a ATS turbo housing.. what about a rebuild kit?

It's got the wicked wheel, I just sent that and the rest of the stuff to Ron's for a balance (hopefully the turbine wheel is salvageable after my severe brain fart). What is the EBPV delete I hear people talk about? I figure while I'm in there I just as well take care of any other mods...

    Removing turbo, exhaust manifold connection?????

Take the nut all the way off the clamp and remove the clamp completely. Works better if you spray some penetrating oil around it first and let it penetrate a little bit What not to do when disassembling turbo - DO NOT forget to take the base off of the turbing housing before trying to tap out...

    Removing turbo, exhaust manifold connection?????

I don't remember the exhaust manifold connection from the rear giving me such a fit the last time I had it out. Seems like the clamp is stuck or something, any tips on getting that sucker off!!!!

Adding a ATS turbo housing.. what about a rebuild kit?

Wasn't aware turbo's had pistons????:D I'm just talking a rebuild kit for the turbo itself. Like this kit. Is it something I should do since I'm going to have it apart?

    Oil Choice Question

Amsoil for me. Bumper to bumper. 168k and ticking. Got an 04 for work and the shop put Rotella 15/40 in it this last time with a Wix filter. Mileage dropped considerably and it was set to be back in for an oil change in 3,000 miles (which in this case was a week later). I run 12K on Amsoil...

Adding a ATS turbo housing.. what about a rebuild kit?

I've got the wicked wheel and it didn't help at all. I see kits that have Gaskets, seals, bearings, collars, bolts, etc. for like $100.

Oil in the CCV bypass tube???

I park in the garage about every night and I don't have any dripping on the floor. I run the hose all the way back to near the fuel tank and put a low spot in it in hopes it would trap anything that might get in there over the years. I think I'll find a fitting and get it plumbed in the...

    What's a good year for 6.0's

Looking at upgrading since the prices are in the crapper, but I know the 6.0's had their issue's for a few years. What are good years to stay away from? 04-05? Drove an 07 yesterday and it had a lot more snort than the 04 I drive for work. What month does the next model year start? I...

Adding a ATS turbo housing.. what about a rebuild kit?

I see there are rebuild kits for these turbo's (00 F250), wondering if it's a good idea to get one of those when I do the ATS turbo housing upgrade? I've got 162K on the clock.

Oil in the CCV bypass tube???

I've thought about plumbing it into the exhaust... . This isn't my first oil change... never noticed the smell as much as we do now. Just as long as it's normal then I wont worry about it.

Oil in the CCV bypass tube???

I was changing my oil the other day and I noticed quite a bit of oil/dust buildup around the frame where I have the tube from the CCV running. There is a low spot and that actually has oil sitting in it. Should I have this much oil coming from the CCV? You can see the "smoke" coming from it...

    Help Needed Alternator acting funny

I've had my alternator fixed twice now, both times together are still less than the price of a new one. First time he replaced the diodes, which a lot of shops wont do cause they make more money selling you a new one and this time it was the regulator. About the same symptoms you are describing.

    Shifting without the clutch???

When I have done it, it was typically a smooth shift. Luckily I haven't done it much. (on this truck) I'd like to hear more about the clutch fork issue though....

    Looking at a 2002 7.3 PSD

Just after 100k I had to replace both front hubs (bearings went out) and the ball joints. Check the tires for wear on the inside. Motor wise??? Aside from the CPS, I personally haven't had any motor issue's and from the sounds of it that's common with these, kind of like the Energizer bunny...

    Shifting without the clutch???

Could be, it is a "off idle" sound and I've heard it can be clutch, normal transmission sound from these, time to change the oil, etc... All I know is that before I changed the clutch last year it was getting noticeably worse, after the new clutch was put in it was non existant for about 6...

    Shifting without the clutch???

The "grinding" on take off is considerably worse than after the new clutch install which basically eliminated it. The truck shakes when taking off with a load, something else that has gradually come on over the last few months. The clutch I put in was a Luk.

    Shifting without the clutch???

Okay then... I'll ditch the notion that I might be saving my clutch by doing this and change that to I might be doing more damage to the tranny by doing this. Just put a clutch in last year about this time and I'm getting some negative feedback from it already.
