    Fuel Cetane numbers

None of the pumps are marked. I called the Shell Dist. and asked about their Premium Diesel He said that it averages about 45. I have run it and don't notice any difference in mileage or perfromance from the Valero (Diamond Shamrock) I normally use. It is about 12 cents a gallon more than...

    Trip Preparation Need Advice

Sounds like everyone has covered most of the truck/trailer stuff. Make sure the tractor is loaded where most of the weight is over the axles. Move it around before you leave to see how the truck sits/squats. 13'6" is the max height allowable. Make sure you chain the h#%#%# out of it. Maybe...

    Interchanging parts between bypass filters???

Seems like it would be a little expensive using parts from both, but it might work. The Factory filter stays in place, you only change the top with the Oilguard. :thumbs

Hi, new here and too Diesels

Welcome & tell your Dad he made an excellent choice. I used to drive long haul years ago so I kind of know how he feels. Take it easy on the new truck for the 500 miles or so and then put it to work. Keep good oil in it and don't look back. These things love to work.. :sweet

    Bypass Oil Filters

I am getting ready to order the Oilguard. The FS2500 is a little on the expensive side. The Oilguard setup appears to be pretty simple without drilling or tapping the oil pan.:sweet

    Nitrogen in Tires?

NItrogen molecules are larger than air/oxygen molecules, hence they do not leak or seep as fast. Over the road trucks have been using nitrogen for years. You can buy a set-up for your home (nitrogen generator, storage tank, etc.) but I'msure it's on the expensive side.
