the title says 03 6.0 died. so just a hunch, but I'm thinking he drives a 2003 with a 6.0L

Yeah I'll have to get it scanned. Is there any other place besides ford to get that done?

Most transmission shops carry a Snap-On MODIS. Whether or not the scanners are capable of doing that function I would hope so for as much as the little bugger cost.

Sure you didn't run it to low on fuel ?? It may have started to loose it's prime (fuel Pressure) ?

Just a thought.

Is it still idling rough.. but okay at higher RPMs ?

X2. That would be the first thing I'd have checked. How low was it?

I had a similar problem a couple of years ago on my '04. Changed both fuel filters and have not had any issues since then. If you have not done it in a while I would at least start there since it is relatively inexpensive and you can do it yourself.
