It isn't all that hard to do yourself (ICP and IPR). You can save most of that $3000.

You are out of warranty because it is older than 5 yrs - no matter what the warranty covers or your mileage, unless you have an extended warranty.

It has the portfolio extended warranty. Let me see what my father agreed to already. If he didn't tell the dealer to do it maybe we can get it towed back and do it ourselves
