First off Welcome to http://www.superdutydiesel.com/ Not trying to be a smart@ss, but I wouldn't put one on it unless I had the money in hand to put the head studs in the truck. I am sure others have other thoughts on this.

And Gauges.. Right after the Head studs.

Best way to clean the EGR is to DRIVE IT.. with purpose, and be a bit aggressive with it now & then. [BUT NOT WHEN TOWING]. Limit prolonged Idling.

Welcome to SDD......

as for a programmer, SCT with custom tunes. you can get the tunes that are meant for trucks still using stock headbolts.

also as BIG JOE said, get guages......

Ditto to above comments with a few additions.

You MUST get an EGT gauge installed. This can't be stressed enough.

DON'T tow with a hot tune. Follow the tuners weight limits. Tow tunes for the 6.0L are basically just slightly over stock.

Even a stock head bolt tune can blow gaskets. It's happened many times. As said, be prepared to do studs if you play.

I am running the power pup. Haven't done the head studs yet but I watch my egts close and my injector pressure. Also my engine temp and tranny temp. Just be careful and don't drive it into the ground.
