Hey,
I have never done an oil change on a diesel but it looks easier then on my gasser ram. I assume the drain plug is pretty easy to find underneether and these take a cartridge type filter at the top of the engine? Anything else I really need to know? One think im going to need to learn is how to drain the water seperater and change the engine mounted fuel filter. Some things ive read have said you have to take a whole bunch of crap off on top to get to the engine mounted filter but others say you just unscrew the lid. Any insight appreciated.

engine mounted oil and fuel filter are right next to each other....
nothing to remove but the caps themselves.
the frame rail mounted primary fuel filter has a drain & a filter
cap (like the ones that are in clear view on top of the engine).
read you owners manual...dont take my word or anyone elses...
'specially some one that thinks you need 17quarts of oil.

Maybe it was coming out of the DRAIN plug for a while...
Yes, you're supposed to put that plug back in BEFORE you start pouring oil in
come and do my oil change then capt know it all.
it takes 16 1/2 quarts to change the oil on my truck.
this aint my first rodeo. you ****in rednecks need to chill out
i like to wait till it's running down the side of the block to lube the undercarriage too
forgive me if i dont get insulted by a guy who lists window shades and floor mats as "performance mods"

I have had great luck with my 6.0. I'm just not starting to go inside of the engine with modifications but I really haven't had any problems that weren't self inflected.
You either have a good truck or bad. You should be able to tell within the first 10k miles or so. Welcome to the group.
