Current Excursion thru 05 model is built on F250-F350 superduty chassis.
Current Expedition is built on F150 chassis
No 6.0 PSD is available on F150 chassis
Chances that new 07 ExpeditionMax, Everest, whatever name will
ever be available with 6.0 = none ????????????????

Well the Expedition is a variation similar to the F150. I don't think there was ever even a rumor that it would have the 6.0 Diesel though. There were rumors of a V6 Diesel.

2000-05 Excursions are on a F250 platform less the 3/4 ton suspension
Expedition on the F150 platform yep.
Off the rumor mill the Ford Everest supposedly will have a Diesel option 2-3 years after the Everest hits the showroom floor, the model/size of that engine has not yet been confirmed but looks to be a 6 cylinder due to fitability.

Yea, Here is a little on the Everest,

Less clear is what will be under the hood. Original rumors had the Everest getting Ford's 6.2-liter Hurricane V8, but when that program died most speculation turned to the F-150's 5.4-liter V8 and possibly even a small displacement diesel power plant. The 300-hp, 5.4-liter looks to be the front-runner at this point, especially given Ford's stormy relationship with Navistar that resulted in the cancellation of a previous V6 diesel program. Some rumors have even suggested that Ford will go ahead and build a V6 diesel of its own, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Thanks for your input, everyone
Conclusion - write the check for an Excursion now
doesn't seem there will be a real replacement

There is a half a dozen new ones on the lot here in town. I also hear there is a 2000 in nice shape with a little over 90,000 miles on it;)

I see in florida and alabam if you want a new 05 X you can get em for a song, as long as its a 5.4 v8 4x2
who would do that? what a waste putting that little 5.4 in the king of suv's
I want to get my wife one but not a 5.4, its got to be a 6.0 or nothing
