DO I NEED AIC ON 6.0???

I just bought this 2003 F250 6.0 and my eyes are bugging out of my head from reading all the posts on these forums. I LOVE IT!!

Anyway...been reading a little about the AIC. What is the need for the AIC? My truck is used to drive back and forth to work (20 miles per day), hunting trips, road trips, and hauling the dogs to training days. I tow a little, but very rarely.

i use mine to get the truck warmed-up in the mornings, so it will be nice and toasty for the kids on the way to school, and plus it warms the engine up after the cold night, so it will be smooth in the morning.

i also use it when i use my winch on my car carrier trailer to pull on units that dont run, i hit the "charge/protect" button and it keeps the batteries charged up during the winching on.

PLUS, it lights up real purtty at night, and if you kick the rpm's upto about 1400, the whistle is awesome.

w/ the 6.0 its not necessary to purchase the AIC...its possible to
add a switch(s) that will increase the idle (to 1200+ rpm) for either...
PTO (which would serve the purpose of adding heat or cooling) or
battery charging (if youre running additional lights...strobes, etc...)

You can look at my pictures for more information on the PTO mod. It should only take 1/2 hour to do.

i got mine for 150.00 from a member here, saw one on ebay last night at 100.00 and it had the PTO function.

yeah, not much of an option to me....150+ OR the cost of about
a foot of wire and the price of a switch...

i prefer the switch...over the aic...then i dont have the AIC controller
cluttering up my floor board (or where ever else someone might mount
it).
