Whats the difference between 304 stainless, and 409 stainless?

My main concern is how well it will hold up to salt, as the truck is about to be in the UK. I'm looking at a 4" turbo back mbrp system.

Thanks in Advance.

Quality~! Kinda like the difference between a grade 5 and a grade 8 bolt. The 409 will keep it's shine and last longer.

You've got the two grades of stainless flip-flopped--T-304 is higher quality while T-409 is better, but just barely so, than the stock S.S. exhaust.

silverado3500,

The 409 is the same grade as what came on the truck form Ford, it'll get ugly and have some spots on it but will last a long time. 409 is a magnetcis stainless while 304 is non magnetic. 304 also contains a lot more nickel and chromium, hence the extra cost! It'll stay like the day it comes out of the box nearly forever.

If you need a system give us a call and we'll be glad to help you with any questions etc.
