Who did you speak with or ask at the dealer?

I just walked into the service desk and asked one of the reps if I could have a used wiring harness--just told him briefly what I was doing. He went in the shop and grabbed a harness out of a barrell and handed it to me. It'd be helpful if you looked at your PCM--or the pics in the post--to make sure the harness he gives you has the right connector on it.

It was really pretty simple. Good luck.:sweet

I have not seen mine go above 1200 either. I am sure I should also. I commonly leave my truck stereo going for many hours by the camp fire and I use my inverter some with the truck off.

works awesome.

a couple of connectors, some wire and a resistor and switch.

done in 20 minutes. find the wire under dash and find the wire by the e brake, connect the 2 w/ the resistor and you have hi idle

The mechanic that works on mine says that idleing is hell on the EGR valve and will eventually clog it up and cause it to malfunction, how does the fast idle mode affect the EGR valve? Could it be hooked up to an upfitter switch?

TOO MUCH IDLING can cause wet stacking & potentially produce enough
soot to clog the egr.

the Hi-Idle prevents wet stacking (fuel leaking past the rings / down the
cyl. wall)...diesels, especially the 6.0 (and i suspect the 6.4) shouldnt
be idled <long> w/out a high idle.

its NOT necessary to idle the 6.0 (and i suspect the 6.4) for very long...
and if you HAVE to idle (for heat or a/c) then you should do it via the
HI-IDLE mod.

the Hi-Idle (pto or batt. charge) can be connected to any
switch...including the upfitters.
