Fuel mileage

i've checked mileage actual against computer, always filling to the same spot on the fill tube, and my numbers always come within 1 -2 tenth one way or the other. it's been close enough i'm confident now to just go by the computer most of the time.
got about 6K on mine now. just ran 1000 mile from Miss. to Pa. averaged about 75 mph, all interstate. 16.6 comp, 16.7 hand cal.
getting better with breakin at this speed.

I'm driving it like I stole it, I'm getting 13.9 to 14.36 MPG hand calculate !!!

I get around 17-19 hand calculated with a spartan programmer and dpf delete.

My 08 has 3000 miles. I drove it 1000 miles round trip at 74 mph. Average speed per gps was 67 mph. I got about 16 mpg.

16.8-17.2 on the LieOmeter empty. 15.6'ish - 16.3'ish empty

13.4'ish hand calculated pulling this behemoth. But I am running 4.88's...

Trailer's only ~13.5Klbs, but I think what kills my economy is the massive sail (aka front cap) on the trailer.

Then again, I never really cared about fuel economy. It's a truck, not a Prius. Want fuel economy? Get a Prius.

Ran from Alexandria VA to Cassopolis MI (Just a little North of Elkhart IN) on Interstates270/70/76/80/90 running speed limit plus 12 MPH (so that was either 77 or 82 MPH). Averaged 13.9 MPG. On the home I took I80/69, then US 30, I75/70/79/68/70/270. Ran 66MPH and got 17.4MPG. Significant difference but I sure wuz bored!

Only excitement I experienced was after running all the way across PA without stopping, pulled into toll booth, paid toll, then was running back up to speed and left a long, long trail of pure white smoke--no idea what caused it and have not had a repeat performance. Not yet, anyway. Any ideas?
