Hey guys,

Where is the fuse panel that I think whatabudro(?) used in his install instructions for an autometer gauge set? I found the one underneath the steering whell but it looks nothing like his. Plus the 17th slot has been left empty:confused: I am confused! On a side note the gauges are in with a sloppy install. I am going to have to take some time to clean things up a bit and repaint. Dang NAPA said the color was a perfect match and its only about 5,000,000,000,000 shades off-mad . Thanks

I have no idea what you are talking about. Whatabudro has many threads and I can't/won't keep up with them all. What year of truck are you referring to??

Daveben I didnt expect any of you to keep up with anyone persons posts. I am refering to the gauge installation and hooking up the power from the fuse box (slot 10-and slot 17). I just cant find the panel that budro is talking about. My slot 17 is empty? Thanks for all your guys help!

His dads truck is a later model that has all the fuses under the dash.

Yours is probably like mine in that it has one panel under the dash and one under the hood.

I suspect that is why you cannot find the fuse you are looking for.

There are customer access wires under the dash than you can grab and they will work fine for powering gauges. They were in the same place as on my 00 as my dad's 02. The place is to the right of the throttle pedal next to the factory brake contoller hookup. The wire will be in a bundle with white plastic tape saying "customer access wiring see....." Then you will see one or more wires that have cut ends with rubber tape on the end of them. Strip the end of the wire then verify voltage with a meter or test light. Some of the wires are on all the time some are keyed on. Hope that helped.
