how does this thing work. I am about to drop the tranny on this and I am not seeing how it disconnects from the tranny.

sliding sleeve disconnect on the line

if you happen to break it, Ford offers a repair kit

you'll see the line going into a metal sleeve... that metal sleeve is actually two parts, one slides into the other... like a quick disconnect fitting on an air hose

what I'm getting at is, take the line off the slave, rather than take the slave off the transmission

I thoguht they were sealed units?

does this require re bleeding? I see no ports to bleed it out, and I see where the hose goes in the slave, but it does not look like any quick disconnect?

I should have asked first... nylon or steel line? Steel line should have a union nut at the slave... and yeah, you need to bleed it, but you bleed it by pumping it like a bazillion times.. (I think it's like 30-50 times)
