Made it....15hrs door to door (tomball to asheville).

I wound up stopping twice for fuel...i stopped TOO
early the 1st time w/ only 425mi on the tank...i hadnt
had my morning coffee...and id already been up 6hrs...and
the fuel was "cheapest" i knew id get the entire trip.

the bugs in alabama (i65) nearly obstructed my view...but
i kept pressing on...i wanted to get north of atlanta & THEN
id could think about cleaning the windshield before heading
over the mountain(s) @ greenville.

I would have been cutting it too close for my own comfort
fuel wise.

i was getting 630mi per tank...if id run the the 1st tank to
500ish id have had plenty (for my single stop game plan)....
just as well i needed to clean the bugs off !

i paid NO outta state taxes (speeding tickets)...alabama had
THE most cops out....im sure i saw at least a dozen in alabama
alone....none in texas or lous-i-ana.

i wanna thank whoever it was that said go ROUND the east
side of atlanta...the map/gps software didnt take into account
the time zone change...and i hit the 285 parimeter at 330p....

taking the east/stone mountain side of 285 i light rush hour
traffic...it was a cake walk...i85 from 285 past lawrenceville
was stop and go.

i saw the highest egts ive ever seen in my truck climbing the
mountains around asheville (1200*)....and fwiw i didnt use or
loose a DROP of coolant...no puke'in here !

the truck performed FLAWLESSLY !

i pick up the car tomorrow...gonna goof around in asheville
a bit have dinner w/ friends and then im gonna turn it all around
and do it again friday morning & beat feet back to houston !

glad to hear you had a safe trip there. me and my dad will be going thru atlanta in route to gainsville, ga early friday morning to p/u the new Peterbilt.

Maybe we will cross paths on the interstate. be careful.
