The 5.0l was probably the most common Ford truck engine made, simply called the 302 prior to fuel inj. Was used in pretty much all their vehicles at one time or another, especially from 1980 on.
4.6 and 5.4 started being used in 97, with the restyled f150's and light duty f250 that was around for a year or 2.
Before that, it was either the 5.0, 5.8, or the 460 for engine options.[/QUOT


actually Ford started putting the 302 in trucks in the late 70`s....also Ford had the 300 inline 6cyl (tower of power) as a option....

i made one and used it for awhile got 1.to 1.5 more mpg coudnt keep it from leaking still thinking also if i got enough gas also got to much heat still thinking about placement and cooling system and better sealing of unit

This is an old post I ran across. I wonder if the argument was ever resolved? I guess it was BS since nobody posted " THIS **** REALLY WORKED!":D

My brother tried it on 2 different vehicles (Honda Civic and F150) and it didn't help enough to measure. It's a total waste of money and not worth the hassle IMO.
