Had my idler pulley (tensioner) disintegrate on my on the way home...

I don't have any tools with me and I'm a few miles from the parts store with no transportation (Got my legs, though...)

Anyone know what size wrenches I'm going to need to change this thing out?

Ben,

Good greif, I just did mine last weekend, but I caught it right before it was going out.

Ok, so it is the Belt Tensioner? or just a Pulley? There is a difference.

You will need a T50 and a 15mm to change it out. Just give me a call if you have any questions, any time since I just did this job LOL

Well....based on location in your diagram, it's #2.

Lower corner of the block.

But -- I could have sworn that #8 didn't have a spring...

Let me go look right quick.

FYI, the #2 on the top has no ridges to it and is smooth. and the one on the bottom has ridges on it ;)

But the #8 should be smooth too

Well, I say that but that is for a 1997 truck, a 1994 truck may be different.

You were correct.

Bad one is #2 (bottom one)...didn't notice there were two #2's!

So, just need the T50 or both?

Great....thanks a BUNCH

I normally just muscle the tensioner when putting the belt back on.

Thanks again.
