hey guys! i just bough an 01 f250 ccsb 4x4 4r100 lariat 7.3 truck. this truck is a big upgrade in every aspect from 1990 RCLB f250 with the 7.3 idi except for the fact that it seems to drink fuel like no tmmrw.... i average 13 mpg in the city and 16.5 on the highway. my idi didnt care how it was being driven and it averaged 16-18 mpg. the truck does have 277k on the clock but has been decently maintained. things i have checked are as follows. the turbo, cac piping and cac, cps just replaced due to the recall and i did change oil and fuel filter, inspected air filter and air filter box, no fuel leaks, minor exhaust leak before the turbo, tires and alignment are in good shape, i dont drive like a madman either. the engine does not smoke at all. i run additives every tank. are there any sensors or exhaust pressure tubes that need to be looked at? also it has 3.73 gears and i have the hubs unlocked. what are some upgrades that i can do for under 1000 dollars to improve fuel economy including a chip, exhaust and intake? im not looking for alot of power increase mainly fuel economy. thanks for the help!
