I think several guys have used it with good results. I have not had to do anything to my oil pan, and hopefully don't have to. If you try searching for other posts about the oil pan rusting problem, you might find some more information about it.

has anyone ever tried POR 15???? would this work on my rusted oil pan????

I should be venturing down the new oil pan/ POR-15 road next week. I'm going to my daughter's in Spencer, WI and do it in her heated garage with her boyfriends help.

As a minimum, I'm doing a new oil pan w/POR-15 and new head gaskets & studs. Depending on what we find on teardown, I might do a rebuild as long as I'm more than halfway there already.

I use the stuff often. A couple of tips. Clean the parts good. Where gloves. If you get this stuff on your skin it will not come off. Top coat POR 15 with any paint or under coating when your finished.

Have fun.;tu

Been working for over 2 years now and my pan was fairly bad. Prep took a little bit more work that I would have liked but its holding up great. The only time I would replace the pan is if the engine was going to be removed for some other reason.

Thanks for the offer.
The job is getting pushed back a week or two. Daughter's boyfriend got layed-off recently. Some paying mechanical work just popped up and should take him a week or two to complete. I can easilly wait until then, I'm in no hurry.

However if I do the job at my daughter's, I have the added bonus of being able to spend more time with my grandbuddy. :D
We celebrated his 1st birthday today. :party:party

Hope you don't have to replace it..........as you probably know its a BIG jog.

Remove the engine......remove pan......invert engine and install new pan with ford adhesive/gasket......let set for 24 hours. :(

Certainly worth the effort to try and repair the pan you have.
