Over heating 7.3 in Oz

I'm presuming that your stock fan & clutch was a plastic composite fan if so that is the way to go, I can tell you the difference when my OBS truck has the 15# steel fan hanging off the water pump and when it is not there.

if you're overheating replace the cap on the radiator reservoir. You can run these trucks without the fan, I know, I'm doing it because my fan clutch is bad. If your cooling system is working correctly you almost don't need a fan, I know.

So have your cap replaced. Go to Ford and get a new one.
If that doesn't work be sure you don't have any leaks and check that your thermostat is opening as it should or just simply replace it as it is not a expensive unit.
