You guys just unplug the connection when the truck is off? I' thinking of doing this to my truck and was just making sure I'm going to do it right. Also if it throws a code will it set a check engine light?

Thanks Rick

the default (engine off, key off) position of the egr valve is CLOSED,
IF you unplug it you want to do it when the engine and key are OFF
to insure that the valve is not open when its disconnected.

depending on the model year, flash version & emmissions version (california)
your truck could 1) set codes, w/out turning on the cel or 2) set codes
and turn the CEL on (california emissions)

At the least your oil will stay cleaner and you won't have to keep pulling the egr for cleaning or buying replacements.

I noticed today that I didn't smoke as much as I used to. I used to be able to leave a pretty good cloud and then nothing till this afternoon with the cat fell off and then I was able to get it to smoke alittle
