Shock size

I have a set of Fox shocks that I had rebuilt by Fox that I would like to put on my truck. The problem is that I don't know if they will fit. They came off a 2000SD with a 6" lift. I have a 99SD with a 4" lift. Is that too much compression for the shocks?
